Privacy & Accessibility

We collect only what you give us, and only where you give it. If you sign up for our newsletter in the site footer, we collect your email address. If you send us a message through one of our inquiry forms, we collect the details you type into that form — your name, email address, phone number and whatever you tell us about your visit or your event. If you book a room, your reservation and payment details are collected by our booking provider rather than by this website. Beyond that, our analytics and advertising partners may set cookies in your browser, which you can turn off at any time — see Your privacy choices below.

We do not ask for, and this site does not store, any information beyond that. There are no accounts to create and no passwords to keep.

You are in control of the analytics and advertising cookies on this site. The privacy notice that appears on your first visit lets you accept them, opt out of them, or open Preferences and choose category by category. Whatever you choose is remembered in your browser.

You can change your mind whenever you like: the Your Privacy Choices link in the footer of every page reopens the same preferences, and turning Advertising off there opts you out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out automatically. Analytics and advertising stay off and you will not be asked again.

With your permission we use Google Analytics to count visits and understand how the site is used, and advertising tools from Google and Meta to measure our ads and, where relevant, show them to you elsewhere. These partners may combine what they see here with information they hold about your activity on other sites.

When you opt out, Google’s tags switch to a cookieless mode that records no identifiers, and the Meta advertising pixel is not loaded at all. Cookies that are strictly necessary — the ones that keep the site working and remember this very choice — always remain.

To opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit, install Google’s browser add-on.

We value your privacy and will treat your email address as if it were our own. By giving us your email address you are agreeing to receive marketing emails from us, which are sent through Mailchimp. Every one of them carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We do not sell or rent our mailing list.

A message sent through a form on this site is delivered to our team as an email and answered by a person. We keep it as long as we need it to help you and to keep a record of our correspondence. It is not added to our mailing list unless you have asked for that separately.

Room reservations are handled by WebRezPro, our booking provider. Choosing your dates, entering your details and paying all happen on WebRezPro’s own secure booking engine, not on this website — so your payment card is never handled by, or stored on, cuyamabuckhorn.com. Their handling of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

We share your information only with the service providers who help us run the inn and this website — our booking provider, our email provider, our web host, and the analytics and advertising partners described above, where you have permitted them. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page. Material changes will be noted here.

Cuyama Buckhorn strives to ensure that its services are accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence, and that accessibility work makes the site better for everyone — so it is part of how this website is built rather than something added on top of it.

We build cuyamabuckhorn.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is a target we work toward continually rather than a certification we claim.

The site is written in standard, semantic HTML with its language declared, so screen readers and other assistive technology can make sense of its structure. Menus, accordions and carousels are ordinary buttons and links that can be operated entirely from the keyboard, announce whether they are open or closed, and keep a visible focus outline as you move through them. Every photograph carries text describing it, or is explicitly marked as decorative so it is passed over rather than read aloud. Colour and type are drawn from a single palette chosen for legibility, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed. If your device or browser is set to reduce motion, animations on the site do not play.

Our booking engine is operated by WebRezPro and third-party content such as embedded maps is served by its provider, so their accessibility is outside our direct control. If you run into trouble booking a room, please call or email us and we will complete the reservation with you.

Despite our efforts, some pages or content may not yet be fully accessible. We are always working to improve, and we welcome being told where we have fallen short.
